-

-
Do you take walk-ins?We highly recommend booking ahead of time to avoid disappointment. You can walk in, but booking at least 48 hours in advance will give you the best chances of getting a space. Vikings always planned their raids, and you should do the same.
-
Can I take pictures?Yes! Document your successes and choose a mean looking filter! If you're posting on Instagram, make sure to tag us @thehiltofyork
-
How do I use my gift certificate? We get this one a lot. All you need to do is make your booking and proceed to the payment screen where you will see an option that says "Gift Certificate". On your certificate will be a code that starts with "G", enter that code there. Boom! Done!
-
Can we book a private bay?Of course! If you have a group of 8 or more, you can book an Exclusive Session for just your party. Fewer than 8 participants is a Social Session and you will probably end up sharing your bay with other throwers. If you would like to book an Exclusive Session, but you have fewer than 8 participants, you will have to pay the full price for 8 people.
-
What is your minimum age?Our minimum age to participate is 13. The axes weigh 1.6 kgs (3.5 lbs). Our coaches are trained to work with younger participants all in a safe environment.
-

-
Are you dog and child friendly?Certainly! We are always happy to have dogs in the building! Kids are fine too... Please be aware that it can get very noisy in the building and both can find that quite distressing. We would recommend avoiding Saturdays as those are our loudest days.
-
Are the axes weighted?Well... yes... everything in existence is has weight. If you mean, "Will the axe always stick in the target no matter what?" No. Physics doesn't work that way. Our coaches are good, but they're not miracle workers.
-
Is it safe?We take safety seriously. All throwers are enclosed in a cage, with dampening pads above, below, and on the ground infront of targets. Spectators stand behind a secure partition while awaiting their turn, and axe coaches are present for the entirety of the session to ensure rule adherence. In addition, our axes and targets are checked before each session to ensure their integrity.
-
Can I drink alcohol? Not until after your session. Soft drinks will be available during the session, but mead and ale will need to wait until after the action.
-
Are you wheelchair accessible? We have a ramp to help wheelchairs clear the 6 inch step at the point of entry, but this is suitable for smaller wheelchairs and walkers only. Larger motorised wheelchairs may struggle to navigate the small amount of space between the ramp and the curb. We also have a disabled restroom, and our coaches are trained to assist people with a wide range of mobility issues. We'll get you throwing if we can!
-
